The ANNUAL UNIT OWNERS MEETING and the ANNUAL HOLIDAY PARTY will take place on the same night in the 345 Lobby. Unit owners, come join us at 7:00 PM on December 10 for the meeting, and stay on past 7:45 to enjoy food and drink with your neighbors. The meeting will include the election for 5 open positions on the Board of Directors. The Annual Holiday Party is open to all.
Senate Bill 2664 was not called during the recent legislative veto session, so there was no vote on Governor Quinn’s amendatory veto that would have shifted costs in a foreclosure to the banks. Therefore, the bill is dead, and the status quo remains, where the buyer of a foreclosed unit remains responsible for what costs the association is able to collect.
However, an article in the December 7 Chicago Tribune warns that other legislative attempts to limit these collections, particularly uniit remediations and legal fees, are brewing. “This is going to get ramped up again,” according to attorney Robert Prince.
There will be a very brief Board of Directors Meeting on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at 6:50 PM, prior to the Annual Unit Owners Meeting at 7:00. The only item on the agenda is a vote on raising non-resident parking fees in line with the increased taxes imposed by the city beginning in January.
The next regularly scheduled Board of Directors Meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at 7:00 PM in the Board Meeting Room in the West Tower sub-basement.
