CONTACT YOUR STATE REPRESENTATIVE
AND MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE
TELL THEM TO VOTE NO ON SB 2664

This bill has passed the Senate and is now in the House of Representatives for the State of Illinois.

The Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) and Illinois Board of Realtors have put forth SB 2664. The bill will create more problems and is a fee increase for homeowners in associations.
SB 2664 would prohibit condominium associations from including special assessments and limit a condominium association’s ability to collect attorney’s fees, late fees or court costs. While attorney’s fees and court costs can be collected, the total amount that can be collected may never exceed 9 months of regular assessments. Foreclosures usually take longer than 9 months.
The end results in most cases would have associations receiving less repayment than under the current statutory scheme.

We need you to immediately contact your Representative, the sponsor of the legislation, and the members of the House Judiciary Committee and tell them to
Vote NO on SB 2664.

The bill is up for hearing tomorrow, so now is the time to act.
